Sephora Ultimate Gel Eyeliner Swatches

Sephora Ultimate Gel Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil

Sephora Ultimate Gel Eyeliner debuted a month or so ago, and I was waffling on whether to buy them or not (quite a few!), but I eventually did. We shall see how well they perform in practice, as swatches were all over the place. Here are swatches of all the shades!

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I see what you mean Christine when you said the swatches were all over the place – yes they are. Some look great, some look fairly patchy. I don’t think, overall, they are as good as the Contour liners. The Bronze Metallic and Olive Glitter are the ones that interest me the most.

These look interesting. I’m always on the lookout for a good pastel or colourful liner with good opacity and wear time. I’ll look forward to reading reviews about the wear time and durability etc.
like the other poster mentioned, I REALLY hope these aren’t replacing the contour liners!
Call me basic, but it will take a lot for any liners to replace my go to’s (Colourpop or Nyx faux whites line)

Oh yeah? I’ve had nothing but crap luck with Colourpop and Nyx pencil liners. Dry, patchy, tuggy, and they often fall right out of the tube. I eventually decided to stop wasting money on buying them and put the few extra bucks in to the formula that works for me now – Sephora’s waterproof liner line. I can even use them right up to the end (those cheaper liners just dried out so fast, the last NYX pencil I had basically disintegrated in two weeks).

The Aqua glitter looks disappointing but maybe the cobalt matte would suffice for me. I hope to be able to shop in store after I get my booster this week, I haven’t been in a Sephora for two years, shopping online is just not cutting it for me.

I hope they’re good and that Sephora hasn’t ruined the formula the way they did with the new version of Cappuccino. I have 2 or 3 of these twist up ones in the “old” formula and they are quite good. If the new ones measure up, I’m surely going to get Forest Green Shimmer and Olive Glitter and possibly one or two more.

Yes! Thank you for picking these up! I saw them on Sephora and wondered how they compare to my staple favorite the waterproof liner. Sephora house lip and eyeliner releases always get my curiosity up. I can’t wait for the review either, as that Espresso shade has very much caught my eye.

These look like they might end up being dry and tuggy. I love my Ulta Brand and Colourpop liners (some say the CP drag and tug but I think they are incredibly creamy and pigmented so must have gotten a good batch or the colors I chose just have a better formula?) I recently discovered Ulta’s liners and they are fantastic. There are some fun colors although I wish they’d expand the range. The Sephora ones used to be quite nice with lots to choose from. I do like Lavender matte so if that performs well I would add it to my ever growing liner collection.
